A dull orange colour for this wine of vines over 90 years old of Massal Selection Trebbiano Abruzzese. No oak. All free run juice. There is a Smokey note on the nose as well as lime and lemons. Mineral driven wine with lime, lemongrass, white flowers, bruised apple, and a kind of lemon tang in the middle palate. Very high acid. One could mistake this for at a Minimum a 1er Cru Chablis or even Grand Cru without the oak. This wine is beyond anything else out there from Abruzzo. Wow.

1/6. Wanted to give this a try in its youth in the knowledge that it would likely be early days which it was. On the nose there is peach, flowers and pepper. On the palate there is quite a bit of weight, citrus, a touch of peach, pepper and searing acidity. On the first day the acidity was a bit overwhelming but by the second day that had mellowed slightly giving an indication of what this is going to be like down the road. Fantastic quality but definitely worth leaving this for at least another couple of years before trying again.

Fonte Canale Vertical with Cristiana Tiberio & Levi Dalton: The nose was wonderfully fresh, with crushed stone dust, young peach, smoky florals, and hints of undergrowth, with an underlying richness that is still holding back. On the palate, I found silky textures with an almost-oily feel, with zesty minerals up front, giving way to citrus-infused young peach and spice, as yellow inner floral tones developed. The finish was long, resonating on saturating minerals and spices, with lasting notes of tart, cheek-puckering green apple. This wine simply needs time in the cellar to blossom.

Decanted for 90 minutes and just singing. Has a nice herbal complexity with lots of orchard fruit and minerality. Precise, long finish. At peak.
