Served by simply popping and pouring. It showcased smooth tannins, providing a pleasant mouthfeel. The fruity body of the wine exhibited good weight and structure, with flavors of plums and blackberries. While the acidity was on the lower side, it still maintained a balanced profile. While it paired well with food, it lacked the complexity and finesse.

Last and best of the case. Some bricking, nose of strawberry and cherry and a herbal edge. In the mouth ripe red fruit, earth, herb and a touch of cream. Tannins are fine and medium length. Acidity is medium minus and together they produce a pleasing structure for the fruit. This is well balanced, unpretentious and gets on with the job. Nice.

I’ve ploughed through this half case in no time at all. It’s all about the ripe fruit and the attractive earthy aromas. So long as I don’t look at the invoice or replacement cost I can assure myself this is a very tidy midweek burgundy. Oh well.

This has come together and is less edgy and green than it was at its last showing. This note is from a bottle open for over 24 hours. Beautiful lift, freshness and complexity on the nose: ripe blackcurrant, cherry and raspberry, with iris, rose, mint, sassafras, ginger, cocoa butter, and spicy balsam fir accenting these sweet fruits. It is tangy and nervous, but the finish fans out with notes of dark fruit, flowers, pine and pleasantly bitter cacao. Scrumptious and gulpable today, this should continue to gain polish and composure for a few more years. Not sure about the long haul, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it in very fine form a decade from now, as the fruit is intense and totally primary. Love this pure style, there is a feeling of direct connection to the fruit from which this wine was made.

This seems to be on the edge. There's a substantial green quality, but also gobs of sweet fruit. Cassis, cherry, raspberry, pine needles, hints of cinnamon, roasted meat and roses. On the edge because it's just a little stern, the green lingers as long as the fruit. For now, it's delicious, long and intriguing.
