PNP. Deep dark electric ruby color. Baker’s chocolate, blood, red currant, and minerality. Very dry, full bodied, stern palate, with lingering, center of the tongue acidity. Firm tannins on the long finish.
This is brooding and very tight without aeration. I expect this will keep improving. It’s seriously built, but not my style (much like most Cliff Lede). Chris Tynan was kind enough to taste with #1WineLover and I during our recent Napa trip. Very fun.

Decanted for 4 hours in a Grassl Carafe at 55 degrees in a U-Line U-Chill. After 4 hours the wine was poured into a more traditional Grassl Decanter for another hour with a wider surface area for more air before consuming over several hours. Stemware used was Grassl 1855 and paired with a Flannery dry aged New York Strip.
The initial sip came across as very tart cherry. However, this dissipated over time with more air and it turned into a beautiful and complex wine that continued to evolve with every glass over several hours. I don't have truly formal notes, as this is being written 1 week after I drank it but it was full bodied with great depth. There were beautiful aromas. The flavors were of dark fruits, minerality and some earthiness. The tannins were medium+ and the wine became a bit more tannic after hours of drinking and many hours of explosure to air. Not sure if this was a sign that it was going to eventually shutdown or if i noticed the tannins more present when it was no longer paired with the steak.
This wine has the potential to reach the elite if you can show some restraint and cellar for several more years. I have 1 bottle left and will try to hold off at least until 2025+.
Today's score is a 96+ with a 97-99 easily in its sights with more cellaring.
12 hour decant. Pure awesomeness. I thought the 2014 was a more structured and restrained wine for my tastes but it in no way takes anything from this one. The 14 had more minerality and I felt was more unique and singular than the 15 which still stands out among other wines as something "different" but to me was clearly a very high quality Napa cab, maybe the fruit was picked a little riper(?) for that vintage. I couldn't say that about the 14.

Decanted and aerated for 5 hours, high tannins upon opening but went down toward a medium+ at the 5 hour mark. Dark cherry, blackberry, plum, pomegranate, cinnamon, clove, tobacco, licorice, asphalt, really pure and fresh with great acidity. Very good now but really does need a minimum of 5 years.
