This is an excellent Châteauneuf from the Cazes family of Ch.Lynch Bages, according to their website composed of 60% Grenache, 22% Syrah, 17% Mourvèdre and 1% Vaccarèse. Fermentation takes place in cement cuves and the wine is aged in a mixture of used oak barrels, foudres and cement cuves. A deep youthful purple red color is followed by a very special bouquet: a mix of red and black fruits with provencal herbs and garrigue. The taste is meaty with a mix of all kinds of fruits that can be found on a provencal market, firm but ripe tannins, sufficient acidity for a good balance and a long voluptuous finale. This is famtastic to drink young but can probably last for 10 years. Much better than the 2015.

Let the bottle open for 2 hours before starting. Didn’t decant it ! We had some pasta with meat ! The nose was full of flavors with red fruit like cherry and a very good balance between nose and mouth , the pallet was delicate and had finesse , but through the end there was some rough edge , would not describe as greenish but from perfect entrance didn’t finish all through end, but still a great bottle that I would open any night !

Deep garnett in the glass... A little age but there is plenty of life in this one.
On the nose there are red fruits upfront with a little plum and cocoa coming through with some herbaciousness.
Not a blockbuster. It has balanced tannins initially, then cherry and long vanilla finish. 91.5 and with the glass half full I'll stretch to 92.

Medium to full bodied. Wonderful expression of fruit with accents of Mediterranean spice. Good juice.
