The 2017 Outpost Grenache presents a captivating visual with its fading rim and slight crimson brick hue. On the nose, it unfolds an intricate tapestry of aromas: cooked cherries and black olives intertwine with notes of leather, creating a rich, earthy foundation. This is further complemented by an aromatic medley of dried herbs and soil, hinting at its tertiary evolution. The delicate scent of dried roses adds a layer of complexity, while an intriguing hint of meat sauce deepens the overall olfactory experience.
Tasting this Grenache is a journey through a landscape of mature, concentrated flavors. It evokes raisins and cooked red fruits balanced by the robust presence of woody tannins. This wine demonstrates a blend of age, intensity and refinement, offering a taste experience that is both profound and lasting.

Savory with large aromatics of strawberry, cherry. On the palette it's cherry & strawberry & blueberry pie with creamy texture and less viscosity than my last tasting. Flavors of black cherry & ripened strawberry with balanced acidity. Spice driven finish and lingering for nearly 1 minute.

PnP. On day 1 this was very good. My only fault in the wine was the slight overpowering of oak. However, day 2 brought about an extremely well balanced wine that is an excellent example of the quality from Outpost. I am blown away, because I thought this was great the first day, but wow did it evolve into something special with enough air time.

unfortunately this bottle from a friend was really closed. Next to nothing on the nose and some cherry candy in the mouth. No perceptible flaws but just nothing going on. I suspect an off bottle rather than being shut down. NR

Beautiful- continues to be my favorite California Grenache outside of Paso Robles. Beautiful red cherry nose. Flavors are classic mountain expression of Grenache. A light accent of spice, but mostly bright fruit. Should be great with food.
