Lovely texture and weight. Has a leanness and tension about it, but balanced with fruit. Flavour profile more towards lemon, white peach and almond. Lovely weight, poise and persistence.
At the winery and at dinner, with Lloyd, Cally, and Justine. I really think this is fabulous wine. Generous oak notes add a great frame work and opulence to the intense fruit. There is a beautiful tensile strength to this wine, and while linear, there is absolutely no fat to the dimensions - this is all muscle. It is worth its price of $47 ex winery.

Post Joachim Concerto and audition day dinner (Trelissick Crescent, Ngaio, Wellington, New Zealand): Fine Central Otago chardonnay with creamy oak handling, mealy complexity and excellent fruit. This is very fine wine, but did not strike me a outstanding on the night. Dependable and delicious, but veers towards what one would expect.
