  • Tasted at the winery. Lighter red fruit on the nose with a distinct green bell pepper quality along with light spices. Light-to-medium bodied (12.2% ABV) with soft, open cherry upfront, rounding out very nicely in the middle. Retains good acidity towards the back which I wasn't expecting based on how open the fruit initially appeared. This provided better than expected structure to go along with the light earth and spice notes. There's good overall integration here between the fruit and acidity qualities and any heavy spice qualities or roughness is long gone. It's complexity is derived from this balance and from background hints, rather than great variation in fruit notes. Enjoyed this more than I thought I would and a great example of how this wine can age.
