  • Great Wines for Labor Day Weekend (San Diego Wine Co.): WAY too cold

N: Closed; Peaches, poss pears, atop minerals

P: Med body; Very RNDISH entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish, grn apple frt (suspect threshold R.S.) offset by an acidity which fairly seamlessly, yet decisively, becomes the face of the wine into & through the LONG finish with OCCASIONAL *hints* of very, VERY slight bitterness which should be a + with food. For now & through '20 as a quaff or with lighter fare. 12.5% ABV; My VG+/EXC-, arguably the higher for the QPR represented by this vendor's $7.99, which is $2 < the lower of wine-searcher's 2 postings.

  • Aromas of melon rind and citrus leaves, very bright. Very, very pale - almost clear - light gold in color. Bright, citrusy flavors of lemon zest and blossoms with nice, minerally finish. Very slightly sweet on the finish, but in no means cloying. Nice!
