An excellent wine that still has room to improve. A great wine.

Such a wonderful wine. Floral, fruity nose. Loads of red fruit on the palate. Fairground candy apple. Loads of sex appeal in this glass.
Nice acidity. Fuller bodied Pinot. This wine is so damn delicious,
    Case worthy.

  • Pop and pour, which wasn't completely fair. In the glass, pale orange-tinted pink at the rim, shading to clear pinkish ruby red at the core. On the nose, citrus fruits, clove, and nutmeg. On the palate, cherries, orange pith, and a blast of baking spices - clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, all competing for attention. I wouldn't say the baking spice elements are dominant, but they're as close to that point as I can recall from any pinot. Tannins take over on the tail end of a moderately long finish. If you're into pinot for the spice, this is your wine.

  • A producer I’ve had a handful of times, and really find myself wondering why I’m not putting more focus/attention on Paul Lato wines.

Gorgeous translucent ruby color in the glass sporting 13.9ABV. I followed this out of the bottle over the course of a few hours and it showed well from pop all the way to the end. Profile here is restrained richness. I didn’t pick up any whole cluster/stem inclusion spice or greenness. Aromatically it is filled with cranberries, black raspberries, bright floral tones, and cracked peppercorns. Beautifully balanced on the palate with vibrant acidity. A back and forth between dark red spiced fruits and herbal/crunchy flair. Black tea and even some savory iron notes too. Still young and will improve, but this is already excellent.

Felt like checking in again. Still fantastic, with little to no change. I'll try and hold off for at least 12 months before opening my next bottle. Great juice!

NOTE:remember to drink close to ambient room temperature and NOT cellar temperature.
