Final Lunch Club Tasting: Earthy, yeast and aldehyde. Nice cut and drive on the palate, it is savoury and has some interest, though it didn't deliver a great deal of pleasure.

Giants win the Super Bowl! (Chez Kailin - Northbrook IL): Very Pinot Noir aromas, with berry and strawberry and a faint floral component in background. Similar fruit on palate with mostly lean fruit, then fairly assertive acidity taking control from the middle to finish. Not a particularly good value, even with the impressive looking bottle.

Wow 100PN! Blend of vineyards in Bouzy and Les Riceys, a rose of saignee. Its dark in color, but not rose rich, with only medium intensity. This wine, as it should, smells like a light body pinot. It is unique, but quite appropriate for a full rose champagne. Starts with mild sweet peppers, cola and then finishes with light red berries. Never had anything like it. Maybe a little pricey at $160.

Deep color. Cherry cola nose. Rather winey palate - agressive, sharp mousse and acidity, and slightly candied flavors. Needs time if its ever to come together. Just OK for now.
