92 vvPunkte www.vvwine.ch

I really dug this. I’m usually very against brut nature / non-dosage champagnes because I feel they’re harsh and sour and would just be better with a bit of sugar.
This was a totally different animal. It’s savory and unlike other champagnes I’ve had before — more like olives and cooked onions than like a wine. Sugar would have been completely beside the point. Super reductive (which is also not something I typically like) but really worked here because it leaned into it. Excellent and different.

Very sunny and lemony on the nose which crisp apple and mirabelle, chalk and appealing toasty notes. The very fine mousse is dense and persistent. Absolutely bone dry yet with no harsh edges, it has nicely ripe yellow-toned fruit and some richness and vinosity to its firm mouthfeel. A very linear, precise and chiseled wine, I suppose this is not for everyone indeed but unlike some Brut Nature this does not get austere at any point which I find pretty admirable, especially at its low price point. This would be a fantastic aperitif but given that it is not the most hedonistic wine out there I think it is at its best at the table. That said if you consider yourself an acid fiend you can enjoy this in large amounts on its own without problems.

Gunpowder, chalk, citrus, green apples, some raw nuts, slightly smoked.
Medium/high acidity, medium body. Nice wine.

Sparp, tense, crisp. Green apple skin and a puff of rock dust. Tasty and refreshing.
