Darker in colour than the Porte St.Jean, with a little funk and brett too which the decanter dissipated. Very intense aromas of dark raspberry and sweet blackcurrant, but also spring flowers and herbs, with violet and rosehip on the second sniff. In the mouth, quite a lush attack of loganberry, although tempered by sappy blackcurrant, a very silky middle section with ripe blackberry, then a wave of strawberry before a very persistent but crisp finish. Still a baby, it can be enjoyed now but with great promise for its full maturity, in another five years. Slightly more powerful than the PSJ but still only 12.5% ABV. Already delicious but with more to come.

Much darker than the last bottle, but with the same floral notes, then like the last one, crunchy sweet cassis and strawberry, but altogether more intense and satisfying. This time, there was plenty of body and texture, although understandably, not the complexity it will develop in time. Much more convincing than the first bottle.

The nose was floral, full of fresh spring flowers and some elderflower, although mine had quite a hefty amount of brett too, the colour was quite light, as was the attack - very fresh and elegant, sweet cassis, with a middle section blossoming into very clear notes of strawberry. So far, so good, but the feel at the end was a little underwhelming - it was a very decent wine, but I was surprised at the lack of body and texture. It was a bit simple, lacking in complexity.
So overall, a very pleasant higher level midweek wine: refreshing, delightful, great fruit, but nowhere near the better Roches-Neuves for the same price. This is IMHO the problem - at 20€, I would be happy, at 15€ I would be super-happy, but this costs between 35 and 40€ - where there is a lot of competition. Hopefully it will develop in bottle - I have three more. Compared to the Mabileau Eclipse 2014, it's not at the same level, for example, the latter costing 25€.

PnP, feels young, bet very good. A hint of barnyard, great purity of fruit. Long finish

Un poco de brett que no termina de irse nunca, textura fina en boca y muchos frutillos del bosque. Me ha dejado frio.
