  • Simply fantastic for entry level Bourgogne. Intense fruits, some leather, vanilla, certain creaminess, great balance of acidity, structure and tannins. Very enjoyable now and has some potential as well.

  • Caveat: I am a big N. Rossignol fan. Enjoyed this as an entry level wine for him. That said this bottle was pretty raw compared to an earlier one. Strong barnyard and certainly some tannins. Maybe it will soften in time.....maybe!

  • Eh. It punched neither above nor below its weight. It's funny - I kept hearing that to experience Burgundy without going nuts, it was best to get the Bourgognes of high end producers. This is true. The thing is, it means that I expect a lot from Bourgogne. This was...ok. Had some shpritz I had to bang out and it was fine with a bunch of different vegan foods, but it didn't add much to the dinner. Better Bourgognes out there for $34.

  • One of my fav Burgundy producers whose wine has been increasing in price fast. So, bought some of his base level Bourgogne for the first time in order to be able to drink his juice on a more regular basis. First bottle of a case. Medium ruby in color - deeper than most Burgundy, and seems quite high in alcohol/legs/viscosity. Not that strong a nose, at least to start with. Some sweetish fruit - plum, some raisin, and secondary of cured meat perhaps? Or mild mushroom. Good mouth feel. Slightly acidic, but nicely so, and as sometimes described “chewey.” Not a lot of tanin and medium in length. Overall a nice fresh Bourgogne that is certainly well above average. A great daily drinker from here through the next 3 years would be my guess. (Note. Only 5140 bottles produced. Interesting that even on this entry level wine he is now marking up the labels with bottle numbers!)

  • La Paulée de NY Grand Tasting (Pier 60 - NYC): Earthy red and black cherry nose. Plush with good texture and balance. Easy to drink and enjoy now. 87-88
