Rich and round with some weight on the palate. Lemon grass, exotic fruit and a hint of herbs. Starting to show some age with dried fruit and ginger, all nicely integrated.
Tasted alongside the Pierre 2016. The Gallo's make the best wine Sauvignon Blanc can produce. They need a little aging, the 2016 was perfect. The Vieris gave the impression of much more oak, more complexity and als good length. The Piere was vibrant, fresh and round, good acidity and length. Two miracles. Both 92. Superb Price/Quality.

Intense nose of lemon, grass, citrus and stone. In palate, weirdly spicy like ginger, or lemongrass. Fruitiness and minerality is really nice and easily outperform many popular new world SB but this strong spicy palate and aftertaste seems to make some people hate this. For me, it was peculiar but enjoyable. A little higher temperature than common SB would be preferable for this to show its attractive notes.

I quite thoroughly enjoyed this but others thought it didn't taste like SB and was also over the hill. So the exact reasons that I enjoyed it.
