Opaque dark ruby with mild rim clearing Medium plus aromas of black cherry/ plum and leather with well integrated oak notes of vanilla and hints of coconut Medium bodied with palate sweet/sour cherry and soy sauce enveloped in oak notes Medium plus acidity and medium alcohol with medium plus fine grained and beautifully integrated tannins Great length led by tannins and oak components Drinking well now but will prob continue to improve over the next 5-10 yrs Great wine and fairly classic in nature other than the 50% French oak - not quite as elegant or breathtaking as Rioja Alta/ LdH examples however

Blind tasting Deep Ruby Aromatics medium +. Dark plum, blackberry. New oak with vanilla and some dill, but well integrated Palate has medium + body. Acid medium +. Tannins medium +, medium grained on upper palate. Alcohol medium. Cherry with both tart and ripe qualities. Almost a soy sauce character Finish has a medium + length. Balanced Dry glass notes of oak I guessed a left bank 2017 Bordeaux. Initially missed the soy sauce that should have led me to Rioja Nice balance between American and French oak Drink now or hold

Pop and pour, will follow tomorrow. On the nose: blackberry, cedar, a hint of char. On the palate: good density, and lovely acidity, more sweet blackberry, barbecue, and soft tannin on the finish. Solid now.
