  • 2014 blind tasting session. initially closed in the nose, then opened up more and more. Lots of power on the palate with oak spice that could mislead you into Pinot ally here. Light, Selosse style oxidation, good finish. Excellent.

  • Perfect Valentine's day champagne. Light and easy to drink. Tasty but doesn't require too much attention. I think this is champagne maker to watch.

  • This is from the December 2017 disgorgement. For context, 100% Chard, farmed biodynamic, grown in the Aube not all that far north of Chablis, in similar soils. That linkage is evident in tonight's bottle, which is one of the reasons why I am such a big time cheerleader for Dominque Laurent's wines--they speak of place and terroir. I know this wine is done in neutral cask but I would swear in this bottle these is some barrique signature. A toasty note wafts through the aromatic, along with a struck match quality, which in total gives the aromatic a unique signature. Like past bottles of this vintage of Eloquence, there is a marriage of lemon curd, so think a creamy bright lemon, married with a stony minerality. These flavors are what made me fall for this wine, and more broadly Dominique's wines, several years ago. It's why I buy so damn much of her range every year, as it quickly has become my #2 producer in my cellar behind Vilmart. There is green apple here, plus a kiss of tangerine, both a nod to the Chardonnay that is bright and pure. Simply a gorgeous bottle of Chardonnay bubbly, a vinous energy that is really hard to capture in a tasting note. These wines are thrilling, they tell a story and they're beautiful. Dominique, bravo.

  • Drank while celebrating my fiancé graduating PA school at JC Holdway in Knoxville. Excellent oyster shell and acidic backbone. The main note that stuck out through was a struck flint taste, really interesting. Going to wait till 2024 to check in on this again.
