Not my favorite PYCM, not quite enough acid, perhaps a bit overly reduced vs other vineyards. Blew off after an hour or so of slow oxing, but not the best showing,

Once the copious amount of sulfur blew off, the salinity and minerality was initially dominant on the nose and palate - with plenty of fresh oyster shell on the palate coming through. With the wine getting to the 60 degree range, the orange, honeysuckle, white nectarine and straw started to come through to balance the salt, minerals and acidity. Another PYCM with some very interesting and palate stimulating complexity.

Delicious PYCM nose with gunpowder, stone, lemon, white flowers, oak spice with an emphasis on clove and anise. Medium concentration with a slightly short mid-palate, yet a delightful, fresh finish. Very quaffable if you like the house style, 90 points and within the drinking window.

PNP, very pale colour. Expressive nose of citrus and the classic PYCM struck match. Excellent attack on the palate, bursting with citrus, white fruits and melon. Explosive finish with notes of honey. Great length. This wine developed weight, intensity and complexity after an hour in the glass…… so let it breathe before you consume it all (like I did). Fabulous wine, worth the (stiff) price!

Intense flinty reduced aroma comes on strong, in contrast with light color and mouthfeel, soft palate. Subtle fruit, palate dominated by minerality and the finish is quite long. Enjoyable but wish this were more dense, as was 2014.

Vacuum sealed and on day 2 this had more weight. So apparently this is one to let sleep, and enjoy Le Banc today.
