Some very subtle strawberry on nose along with even subtler earthy/herbal tones, light vanilla, maybe some lurking sweet blackberry. In general the nose is beginning to fade- it doesn't feel "over the hill" but I think it would have been better when the fruit was fresher/more present. Very wispy and thin, although pretty.
Palate has a little more energy- more red berry with medium acidity. Starts very lithe, but shows a sneaky line of tannins, surprisingly grippy. Did improve a bit on day 2 once the tannins softened enough for the acidity to show better, and also improved with a bit of a chill. Nice for $20 but maybe too much age on it- good tannin and acidity, but fading fruit.

Muddy brown hue, vegetative, red fruit and a little spice.

Raspberries, cherries, fresh cracked black pepper from the mill. Tastes young for 2012. Could pair this with anything from fish to red meat.
