  • Krotida Wine Gang Tasting, Domaine Huet horizontal 2017 (Oinoscent): 50% demi muids 50% en cuves, soil: stony, green clay, flint stones, age of vines 40yo, alc 12%
Extraordinary array of flavours in the nose, ultra ripe stone fruit, green apple, pear, citrus but its also very refreshing, minty, spicy and ginger notes.
In the palate, the wine shows high acidity, overripe citrus, georgously sweet, preserved lemon and orange, floral notes, leafy freshness, decadent long finish.
Outstanding quality, way to young to drink now but can't stop drinking it. Extremely long life ahead of it. Wine of the tasting for me and I think for almost everyone else. Where do we have cases of this ?

  • Opened and consumed over two days. Typical Vouvray nose of honeysuckle, yellow apple, and pear. The palate is rich, complex, and evolving with notes of quince, bruised yellow apple, jasmine, mandarin orange, underripe pineapple, and ginger. On the second night there were more pronounced exotic fruit as well as white peach notes. Stowing away my other two bottles for the long haul.

  • 2017s From Domaine Huet (Armit Wines): The only 1er Trie this year. Flavours and aromas remind me of Aperol a little. There's orange bitters, honey and lemon drizzle cake a fat, significant texture of marrowbone creaminess but then it flips and shows tight, nervous mineral malic acidity. This is obviously quite primary and will hold for many years to come.
Again sweetness is not the over riding sensation here and I would not think about partnering this with desserts but with savoury foods with a spice content or a rich, fatty flavour.
    Alc 12%
    RS 65 g/l
    TA 4.6 G/L
    PH 3.28
Offered at £280 per six bottles under bond to Armit clients (£58.59 per bottle inc taxes)
