A consistent winner! Dark berry, mushroom(?) and mineral flavors are in perfect balance with acids and tannins. The finish is excellent, too. Ready to drink without decanting.

Tonight, after four years of aging, this was much better behaved, more approachable, seamless and well integrated than earlier tastings. Dark blackish inky purple, full bodied, powerful, dense/rich, yet nicely balanced, ripe layered dark berry fruits are accented by spicy oak, flavors of bitter dark chocolate, dark currants and cassis with silky mouthfeel and firm tannins lingering with a long, drawn-out finish. Delicious - perfect pairing with grilled beefsteak dinner. https://unwindwine.blogspot.com/2023/02/long-shadows-chester-kidder.html

Good wine for a dinner party. Rich red blend that was promising from the first and through to the last. A favorite of the night.

Still excellent. Rich dark fruit, ripe but no jam. Long finish. Tannins a bit muted this bottle.
