  • sweet spice nose, w clove and cinnamon and cherry notes. When tasted, these flavors persist and add raspberry with some herb on the finish.

  • The wine was decanted in a Grassl Carafe for approximately 1 hour at cellar temp prior to the 1st glass being poured. The wine remained in the Carafe at 55 degrees in a U-Line U-Chill for the remaining 5 hours during consumption out of a Sensory stem.

The wine was a pale to nedium ruby. The aromas were of floral, red cherry, minerality and brown spices. The palate was of red fruits (predominantly red xherry and strawberry), baking spices, crushed gravel and salinity. There is medium- acidity and tannins. The body started on the ligher side of medium but gained some weight and complexity over time with an extended period of air. The wine had good balance.

The wine was enjoyable but I don't think it showed as well as the bottle I reviewed approximately 18 months ago. It's in a good drinking window and should remain there over the next few years but I don't think it has the acidity or tannin structure to significantly improve over many years.

  • Nice expression of Carneros pinot. Supple with a focused core of fruit.

  • Was a backup wine on a night that included a 14 mugnier les fuees and 11 fourrier griotte-chambertin. Considering the other wines that night, this held its own for what it is.

Nose was pretty, especially for a napa/sonoma (don't know the exact plot within Carneros this sits), decently strong spice came across though which distinguished it from it's french pinot bretheren. Palate made it much more apparent this is a CA, much higher tannin and in your face attitude compared to burgundy. Not really a fair comparison to the other wines so ended up keeping till the end of the night post-dessert as a night cap and it was good at that. There was enough acidity to believe that this would age well. Overall a solid bottle for the price and would drink again

  • Same as previous bottle. Fabulous representation of Carneros . Lots of cherry, blubbery, raspberry with hints of clove, spice and cola. Drinking well right now.
