  • Right after opening, the nose is full of barnyard funk, along with some more familiar plum and red fruit notes. Very angular on the palate. After 2-3 hours, was more approachable, particularly with food but still more "interesting" than "delicious".

On day two, then nose is bigger, with a stewed fruit element and some Oregon-like forest floor notes. Taste is still pretty lean, but more approachable and enjoyable.

Not a bad wine, but it need more age, a better food pairing, or both.

[edit] this wine improved for 5! days after opening. No vacuvin, just a cork in the bottle.

  • Good, and well-made. Red fruit Pinot with some earth n dirt. Med- body, med acid, med/ tannin. Better day two. Get more if you can find it cheap enough.

  • This is a pleasant Earth driven Pinot noir. Red fruits, with elements of as much dried as fresh fruit. It's definitely a great option for someone who wants a little darker fruit and density than with a similarly priced Bourgogne rouge. And for those who enjoy this style, the price is more than fair.

  • Medium nose shows sour fruit, light funk, floral notes. Palate is mineral driven, tight, dried spice, raspberry skin. Needs time.

  • Somewhat muted nose of cranberry and tomato leaf. The wine has strong tannins, but a nice mouth feel. There are obvious, slightly underripe red fruit flavors on the palate, providing the wine with a nice acidity. I found it charming, but I would wait a year or two if you have a few bottles.
