Grenache blanc, Clairette, Roussanne in broadly equal proportion. 45 year old vines. Absurdly heavy bottle. This is very forward and certainly ready. Enjoyable initially but ultimately cloying even with food. Have had twice before and I'm unconvinced. Perhaps the cepage doesn't help, but nor does the cloud pleasing style. This is not a patch on the 2014 CdP Galevan Blanc I had recently - see note - and that has an even less promising sepage of Grenache Blanc, Clairette and Bourboulenc.

Aroma: white peach, almond pit, orange blossoms. Palate: spicy, honeyed pit fruit with nutty notes and a touch of citrus pith. A tad viscous. Rich mouthfeel but underlying bitterness and acidity cuts through it. Good balance.
