Big and rich. Notes of caramel, sweet yellow peach and honey - a real depth of flavour. Oak vanilla also. Mouth coating, full bodied. Medium acidity. Long finish and complex. Palate is now showing tertiary notes, so drink up, though this will last for another few years.

Like many Hermitage blanc ,in the 5-8 year age, this is just at the start of its peak, which should last 7 or 8 years, before transforming into a less forward beauty, then more about spice, oak, and complex single malt tertiary flavors, which should be interesting for another 20 years. This is beautifully formed, soft but not flaccid, less viscous than Chave, with great subtle tangerine acidity, herbs like tarragon and chocolate mint, almond oil, brazil nuts, and pear brown betty spice and crunch, 45 second finish, with lime zest at the end. Crushed gravel backbone, not chalky, more like a gravel pit after a thunderstorm. Very food friendly now; at its next life stage, pairings w cheese and pate need be more precise. I like it’s versatility now, showing its very best with almond and sesame based sauces, roast turkey with apple almond brioche stuffing, or with smoked marlin, whitefish, or bluefish. A superb Hermitage blanc, and great QPR.

This is great wine and is good value. Scents of honeysuckle, pineapple, fresh apricot and peach - gorgeous! Not massive but quite big and rich in the mouth. Medium+ acidity. Long finish, moderate complexity.

Now this is a Rhône I could get behind. Wonderful scents of pears, honey, flowers and an odd waxy candle scent. Very nice texture that feels heavy, but has nicely integrated (and very well received) acid. Very rich apple, pears and honey with a finish that doesn’t want to quit. I’ll be happy to see where it’s at 5 years from now.

Tasted at the Wine & Spirits Top 100 Symposium in NYC. 90% Marsanne, 10% Rousanne. Some new oak used but not sure how much. This is a beautiful wine that will probably be better with more bottle age. Very rich both in texture and flavor. Nutty, nectarine and white peach. Perfect balance. Bright acidity that will let this age nicely for at least a decade.
