Decanted for one hour; drinking nicely, rich and warming. Tends more toward the spicy, tannic style of Cabernet Sauvignon: red, purple, and black fruits interwoven with medium acidity, toasted oak, and hints of vanilla and coconut from the barrels. Comes across almost like a fine bourbon or a barrel-aged stout: oaky with black cherry and vanilla. I think the Petit Verdot really shines in this bottling. Drying tannins on the aftertaste. Excellent value at $50/bottle at auction.
