Much more like it. The wine tasted altogether fresher and was much more “Burgundy-like” with flavours of minerally greengages. It’s still a little on the sweet side but the acidity balances this out nicely. Tasted on 23/9/22 87pts & re-tasted 3/10/22 when it rated 88pts. I must confess I am still puzzled by the bottle variation and so the jury still remains out for ageing wine with plastic corks.

On first sip I thought this was going to be really promising, but then it all fell apart. The green plums gave way to pineapple and the butter had a rather soapy quality. The initial hint of dryness was replaced by sweetness and a hint of caramel that was overdone for my palate. I was disappointed to find that the closure was a plastic cork and from experience I never find them satisfactory if a wine is kept more than 2-3 years. Perhaps it was cellared too long but I really regret buying this, particularly from such an acknowledged white Burgundy vintage as 2017. CHP 83 points

13.5% vol 100% stainless steel; limestone/clay soils Mid gold appearance Gorgeous, very ripe nose evoking golden honey with bright, clean citrus and some sweet notes too. Pretty peach tones, a touch of sherbet. Very attractive and immediate. Rich on the attack with flavours that match the nose. Weighty, with good acidity, excellent intensity and concentration, tangy citrus oils and a little spice. I expect there is more to come from this. Pretty concentrated stuff and bloody lovely.

Tired & flat but not oxidised; suspect it's due to plastic cork. Returned to vendor.
