Fifth wine for Christmas at my Uncles house in South Africa. Deep garnet red with some bricking on the edges. Dark berries on the nose with some spices, and a little woody. Medium tannins (6/10) and medium to medium plus body. A bit chalky on the palate with dark cherries, bark, spices and a little vanilla. Medium plus to long finish. Drink till 2020.

Lovely light to medium nose. Chalk, light cellar with cassis and a hint of cherry.
Low tannins (6.5/10) but smooth and still an integrated medium+ body. Richer and smoother than expected and definitely significantly better than the Blaauwklippen 2000. The palate has significant chalkiness in the initial attack.
Moderately long finish.

Great blend from Stellenbosch. Color is dark red with light brown edges. Nose has light cherries, cassis and chalk that grows with air time. In the palate there was a lot of tart cherries, a little dry that ended with a little bit of cassis. Low to moderate tannins that flows with a moderate body. The finish was moderate in length and stuck around with cherries.

UK Wine Forum 2004 Bordeaux (Piccolino, Exchange Square, London): A very odd rubbery note on the nose which was difficult to get past. Quite full on the palate with sweet chocolatey dark fruit and a drying finish. *

Cork broke upon opening but no oxidization.

Cork was crumbly. Did nor affect wine. Drinking very well with full fruit flavour and a lot of depth
