Tasted after a 90 minute decant. Dark ruby in colour with lovely aromas of liquorice/leather, cacao & herbal sweet black fruit. On the palate, full bodied black fruit, blackberry/cassis, liquorice, leather, herbal/green bell pepper, tobacco, medium acidity, medium soft tannins with a long finish to sour cherry, leather & minerality. Excellent flavour & structure, & definitely much aging potential ahead! Still good flavour & structure on night #2, with flavour dominated by black liquorice & leather.

Tasted during The Wine Society's Warwick Estate Trilogy Vertical Tasting. This is the first of the vintages tasted which are cabernet franc led. Cabernet franc 50%, cabernet sauvignon 45%, merlot 5%. Medium plum colour. Nose and palate are soft, and more floral. It's good, but I prefer the earlier vintages which are cabernet sauvignon dominated.
Tasting repeated a few days later with fresh wine: A little brighter colour. Ripe fruit, cherries, red fruits. Appearing to be quire young. Needs time.

Smoky and woody on the nose and initial taste. Blackcurrant fruit comes through on the tongue and after taste. Tannins are quite tight. Decant for at least an hour to open up.

Deep garnet ruby red. Opened up with a bit of time on the nose with dark cherries, cocoa, oak and a bit of purple flowers. Medium plus tannins (7/10) with a medium plus body. Could use a bit more time on the palate with black cherries, oak, chalk and baking spices. Long finish. Drink till 2030.
