Nice bottle. Some age noticed, with color changes at the rim. Mix of some slight funk and red going towards darker fruit. Good acidity and soft tannin. Maybe some drying wood tannin at the finish. Better integrated then a bottle tried 4 years ago.

Lunch at Loy Sum Juan (Murray Terrace): A quick splashy decant before pouring. Unashamedly new world, but pretty good even so. Dark purple colour. Woody nose, with cocoa powder, lots of dark cherries and plums and a toss of earth, always growing sweeter with time. Palate had plenty of concentrated fruit on the attack - just swirls of dark cherries and plums, rather heavy, but all well held up by firmish, slightly powdery tannins and fresh acidity. More vanilla and cocoa notes along with little earthy notes showed up on the finish again, with a touch of herbs and mineral adding interest. Not my favourite style, but I enjoyed this wine quite a bit.

Impromptu Half Day of Fun! (Loy Sum Juan and more...): Dense dark cherries. Fruit forward but does have the bosomy fruits to show and it is not afraid to display it out. Almost felt like a bit of merlot was added in the mix. Round and dark juicy wine.

Medium ruby red color. One of the best bottles of this wine that I have had. This wine is definitely more in that cranberry flavor spectrum. Good acid. A bit short on the finish.

New Year's Day Long Italian Lunch (Eketahuna, New Zealand): (under stelvin) Spice, cherry, oak, structure - a very new world
pinot - Central otago in style - a bit reductive and slightly bitter
on the finish but very nice.
