With BLR at S&F survey of CA "Rhone clones." Good ruby-magenta. Good nose, but a bit closed. On the palate, it's a big, dense wine. Tannic, too. Weighty and tough to taste. Could have a tremendous future. A muscular wine. 5-10-15-8: 88/100.

Blind Tasting 1986-1997 Mourvedres (Rich & Peggy's House, Los Altos, CA): Reticent nose, bit minty. Medium bodied with low to medium acidity. Mix of tart and sweet raspberry fruit with depth. Bit of leather and beef stock. Complex and tasty. (my 3rd, group's 3rd)
