  • Blackberry, smoke, leather, earth on the nose. Blackberry up front followed by smoke, vanilla, cream. Finishes with leather, sour raspberry, a little pepper. Good food wine.

  • A distinctive Syrah nose with pepper and blackberry, along with smoky leather. Less fruit up front than most Santa Ynez Syrahs, creamy blackberry followed by pepper and leather, a pleasant, tart finish. Definitely on the old world side, good with grilled meat. Well made wine that should age well over the next few years.

  • Violet/purple color. Intriguingly smoky nose. The palate shows pepper, black fruits, and smoke, in a moderately scaled frame. Less ripe than your typical Central Coast Syrah. A touch of oregano/herb on the midpalate. Could pass for a decent Crozes-Hermitage. Quite quaffable.
