Reading other reviews here on CT and seeing lower scores makes me think this wine is waking up or going out in a burst of glory. The nose has that Cayuse-new-running-shoes-syrah-funk that some of us adore. There is significant heat still on this wine even on day two. The mouth feel is substantial, heavy and velvety. Big bursts of dark fruit: plum skin, black cherries and ripe figs. This is followed by a turn to the savory and finishing with very briny strong black olive juice. The finish is quite long. The wine is intriguing to say the least and seems to be perfect right now.

Still very dark. Big nose of blackberries, meat with background notes of olives. On the palate this first thing you notice is the massive texture. Huge, mouth-filling but not out of balance. Anything but subtle. In a good place right now. Fans of "big" Syrahs will be impressed.

P&P'd. Nice clear ruby red color with little bricking leading to some Cayuse-like action of sweet savory tannin/Black olive/black cherry, eucalyptus action on the palate, medium body along with a decent, slightly vegital finish that echos some of the mid-palate. Held up well from 2-3 years ago.

Opens a bit after 15 minutes in the glass. But a big drop off on Day 2. Smooth, soft mouth feel but a bit hot if that makes any sense. 14.7%. Some nice black cherry, black licorice. I get a sense that this is "Neyers", but not their best effort. And "No", I don't think it's in decline.
