This hasn't aged a day, but I'm not sure that's a good thing... Three fruit is still intense blackberry, there's a hint of liquorice but not a lot of other complex characteristics you get from old wine. Is this screwcap or a generous dose of sulphur in the winemaking?

Bricking rim, slight brown hints to the core. # Fresh and lively on the nose with nail polish remover, lead, mint, ashtray, wild herbs and cassis. Medium bodied, slightly imbalanced acidity with fine tannins and somewhat acoholic structure, but a fine mid-palate of cassis, stewed plum and soured cherry candy. It would be better but for the persistent alcohol on the finish. Past its best by a couple of years, so time to drink up. 14.5% alcohol. Stelvin closure. (personal note - gave a sip to Oliver - didn't like it)

Lots of black fruit left under this screwcap. Colour is brick tending almost to orange as it washes down the side of the decanter. Some smoke and savoury acid flavours, long mild tannins, some stems in the tail, smooth easy drinking. Great value for £15 or so at 16 years of age, not dead, far from it. Strong disagree on assessments from earlier reviews, don't describe my bottle. The secondary and tertiary flavours are adding a fair amount of complexity too.
