  • From magnum. Classic Ganevat nose with bright fruit notes, citrus, minerals, and lemon zest. High acidity on the palate with more lemon and green apple flavors. Long finish. This is still quite young and all about future promise, but the wine has amazing depth and lovely complexity. This will be a wow-wine in 5-10 years. 95-96+

  • well, some bottle variation here. As much as I loved the first bottle this felt more like an average white Jura, a little thin and soapy the same way good quality Austrian Gruner Veltliner can feel if opened too early, and too spritzy even day two and three.

  • Schwa DIY (Chicago, IL): "sea trout: cucumber, licorice, sichuan" Very bright and sappy, with a somewhat vinous quality you don't tend to find in white Burgundy. The fruit is riper and on the yellow/brown side of the spectrum, but that's not to say this isn't fresh and vibrant. For my palate, this got better with air and actually seemed to pick up even more vibrancy. I'm not sure about ageability of these wines, but a generous amount of air seems to be most beneficial for consumption these days.

  • Spritzy at first, needs a night in the fridge, recorked after opening, and then a splash decant. Medium body but rich fruit with grilled lemon, grilled pineapple and a real kicker in terms of long, tangy, spicy and most of all acidic finish. It swears off elegance in favor of power but manages the balance act. Tour de force!
