  • Appearance: Clear, medium ruby. Nose: Clean, medium+ intensity, the nose is developing and dominated by vegetal aromas of bell pepper and blackcurrant leaf with lighter tones of dark fruit (cassis and plum), bramble, wild rose bush, and spice. Palate: Dry, high acid and tannin, medium+ body and high intensity, mirroring the nose, flavors of bell pepper and spice dominate with dark fruit (cassis and plum) in the background with a long finish.

Excellent overall, showing excellent complexity, intensity, and length, while the balance, still very good, is challenged a bit by high tannin and acid levels that nearly over-power the fruit. In time, 2+ years, I believe the tannins will soften and balancing this out and possibly making this extraordinary (93-95). Can drink now, though will benefit from 2-5+ years aging.

  • 45 minute decant. Interesting Cabernet dominated blend. Deep cranberry to purple. Nose initially of cherry and blueberry but that burns off pretty quickly in favor of charred oak and smoke. Heavy but pleasant tannic dryness. Smooths out with more airtime so a good 3-4 hour decant is recommended.

  • Safe, balanced and decently made, but not much complexity or depth. Accessible and pleasant.
