Wow, this is tight. Inscrutable at first, showing a fierce backbone of tannic structure and bright acidity - but with time this opens up to show some lovely aromatics and flavours of red fruits, black cherries, herbal elements and savoury earthy notes. Really nice with air, though I'll try to hold off opening my next one for a while longer.

Sweet fruit, smoke, framed by toasty oak, Medium bodied, bittersweet chocolate, rasberry, decent depth of flavor and concentration, bit rustic but retains subtleness. Very firm tannnins, very long firm finish stays fresh to the end due to the chalky tannins. Perhaps a bit shut down but this is a better than village wine ... drink in two years to see progress.

Astonishingly good for a £12.50 bottle. Rounded, balanced and long. Drinking really well now, after a long wait. Perfect with roast partridge.

Evergreen , dirt, no bad notes. Eucalyptus, menthol, but plenty of dark earth too. Very nice.
