Cherry, spice, smoke, beef, iodine, and sandalwood. Light/medium bodied. Crunchy fruit with medium-plus acidity. Quite electric, in fact. Sweet/tart, persistent finish that hints of tobacco (90+). Needs time; drink 2023+.

There is nothing more than cellar time that this medium ruby Pinot will require to become something special. While enjoyable now, its red fruit, mineral and citrus elements will definitely become more harmonious with age. All of the elements are there...fruit, acidity, tannins and alcohol (13.5%), but these elements are like accomplished virtuosos unaware of each other's presence. At its current stage, this wine is akin to a symphony without a conductor. Lay it down for a couple of years and it should be delicious for several years thereafter. Drink 2019-2025.

Cotes de Nuits Single Blind Tasting (Bin 75 Alpharetta, GA): Cloudy duller ruby; lots of reduction clouding the nose here, obtrusively so, juicy red fruit, sour red plum, hard to get much out of this; has to be the Roty.

Well balanced with soil, fruit, and mineral notes. Reserved profile. Best on day three.
