Third bottle of this Dundee Hills pinot and I enjoyed this much more than the previous bottles. Fuller bodied and more concentrated flavours than the other bottles (perhaps paired better with salmon than the fruity pork tenderloins previously--also another year in the bottle?). Still, the fruit is subdued and the earthy tones lead the charge with a mostly grassy raspberry rear guard sauntering in at the end. Decent length.

Have had two of the 2016 vintage, both with similar results. I have come to love a good Pinot and had high expectations for this wine. But it is all barnyard hay and grass clippings. A little bit of funk too which would have been nice if it had more fruit character. Slightest notes of sour red fruit after much work on my part. I kept hoping that it would develop with time but both bottles were quite closed fruit wise. If a Meiomi Pinot can be faulted for fruit without the funk, this Sokol-Blosser is all funk and no fruit. Interesting experience, but I'd never pay $38ca for this particular experience again. One more bottle in my hands for one last chance.

This really seemed to please my taste profile. Red berried fruit: raspberries, cherries. A hint of oak, spice on the finish. Not overly fruit forward, definitely had an earthy element. Dry and high acidity, paired beautifully with roasted chicken. I don’t have much experience with Willamette, but am definitely going to explore this region more thanks to this great introduction.

The Hatsbys did not like this wine, at all. Certainly not worth the price.
