Beautiful bouquet with red and dark berries. It shows some development as well. On the palate a mouth full of juicy wine with cherries and dark berries and a lot of sweet spices. Firm acidity and tannin.

Monthly tasting club "The Tasting Club" 2016-?; South America (@ RvD): Cherries, blackberries, herbs and sweet spices in the bouquet. Vanilla. On the palate dark berries, chocolate, sweet licorice, cherries, cinnamon, some green impressions. Firm acidity, soft tannin which still has a good bite. In fact the wine is still quite youthful.

Weekly tasting group #176; Mature New World wines (@ WW): Concentrated and mature bouquet with sweet ripe red and dark berry fruits, cherries, sweet spices and a touch of VA which blows off. On the palate the first thing you notice is the vanilla and the oak, followed by red and dark forest fruits, cherries and cigar box. There is plenty of good acidity and some sweetness, round and soft tannin with still a good bite. Overall a beautiful and concentrated wine with chocolate and pleasant acidity in the long finish. This bottle was completely ready with still a few years to go, but it has been stored at too high temperatures. So a properly stored bottle can probably last well into the 2020's. 91+
