I picked this out of a lineup of a bunch of Italian wines for its balance and well roundedness. The use of Cabernet definitely gives the wine the depth and fruit that it needs to pick up weight and allure. Medium body, fruity, earthy, and a soft feel with some exit draw and linger. Drink

Bold and a more modern style with more astringency (tannin + alcohol) and less acid; not a bad combo but less food friendly than I want from my Tuscans, especially at the $38 price tag (Wine Merchant Cary), which apparently isn't even the lowest price in my area of NC according to WS. Damn. Overall Evaluation: B+ (89).

Had this during our Tuscany trip with friends 9/28 to 10/5 to Villa Montepulciano.
Nose of earth and cherry, on the palette wine is berry forward with cherry following in a richly fruit dominant presence. Mid paleate and finish become stringent with tannin and reveals a spicy lingering mouthfeel.

This is raspberry delicious and sexy. Good linger, became softer and softer with air. Not for holding, but damn good wine with Pizza last night. Drink
