40 Grenache Blanc, 40 Roussanne, 20 Clairette. This wine took about 45 minutes to open. I probably should have decanted this wine but elected to just let it bottle decant. This was chilled down to ice bucket temperature, but was a little muted in its colder presentation. Woke up when it got closer to cellar temperature. White peaches, pears, white wildflowers and a hint of honey. I thought this wine was going to have a lot of stone ground chalky tannin and minerality, But it actually seemed to be a little more obtuse with a very rounded mouthfeel that I really was not expecting. This really did not change all that much even with air and warmth. However, there definitely was a little more stone ground fruit on the finish but was notnas much as anticipated. CDP blancs are always a treat, and that holds true here! I honestly believe this needs a few years to integrate, but really was a neat wine tonight.

Southern Rhône trip with Rainer. Tasted at the Domaine, with knowledgeable Véronique. 40% Grenache, 40% Roussanne, 20% Clairette (Grenache and Roussanne were aged in oak, 25% new). €26. White and exotic fruit, white peach, pineapple, herbal notes and mild spice. Medium to full and very creamy, but with some freshness. Well-balanced and already drinkable despite of its youth. A lovely CdP Blanc! I bought a few bottles. 91+ for now.

This was pretty tasty and a good value. Kind of strong and disjointed upon opening but it mellowed out. Lacked freshness.
