This wine opened with deep cherry red colour and a lifted nose of dark cherries, dried cranberries, thyme, tobacco and balsamic. The palate was medium weight and nicely round and mouth filling with a savoury lift and nice firm yet fine tannins providing a persistent savoury finish. There's a lovely sense of completeness to this wine that is both refined and reflective of its Tuscan origins.

Seventh vineyard visited, Eighth wine tasted on our 2021 Brunello tour in Montalcino - Canalicchio di Sopra, a wine I have not tasted in a long time. The 2013 Reserve was an added treat. Brown/Burgundy colour, strong aroma of earthy scents. Medium strong first taste - dark fruits of cherries, blackberries, currants. Finish is long and long linger - dry, oaky, earthy. well balanced tannins, lip-smacking dryness and drinking well

An AFWE wine if ever there was one; this needs 5-10 years. HOLD! The tannins are both fierce, and very fine at this point; acidity is high, as is the level of freshness. The very long finish bodes well for this terrific effort, though if you want some, it won't be easy as there were just 3,6k bottles produced. 14,5% abv., drink 2027-2045+. (90-92), with good upside potential.

Aperto probabilmente troppo presto, mostra eleganza ma non é particolarmente ricco di sapori. Ha bisogno di molta aria se lo aprite ora
