shoulda read my words on the wine btl tag ("air / patience!! brooding in '22 bold for BdM")... nothing more need be said, luckily my last three bottles are buried in off-site boxes (rather than being in the wine cellar rack)... best leave this wine alone for 6-8 years at least, especially since it appears to have the stuff to make for good drinking down the road

Drank it 2 years after initial tasting in Italy. Dark brown hue, soft to medium fruity aroma. Powerful first Brunello burst, dark rich fruits - currants, cherries, followed by a lip smacking earthy finish - hints of chocolate. Long linger to let the earthy flavour sit. Great wine - drink up

Only from clay soils, from their oldest vines planted in '87. 5*vintage. Only 36 months in oak, rest in bottle. Dark cherry and liquorice on the nose, with plenty of complexity. Quite heady, aromatic, leather and cedar. Delicious and complex wine.

Served blind. Very young and bright wine with an austerity to it that almost made us think it was a pauillac. Impossible to place in many ways, soft cherry fruit at times but really the fruit is quite brooding black. Good use of oak here which stays in the background. Not a very characteristic Brunello in our view but also very young. 92 for now

Montalcino 2021 Brunello Trip; 8/26/2021-9/1/2021 (Montalcino, Sienna Province, Italy): Seventh vineyard visited, Eighth wine tasted on our 2021 Brunello tour in Montalcino - Canalicchio di Sopra, a wine I have not tasted in a long time. The Reserve was a real treat. Brown/Burgundy hue, modest aroma. Surprisingly soft first taste - dark fruits of cherries, blackberries, currants. Finish is medium quick and long linger - dry, oaky, earthy, hints of barnyard earth. Cheek smacking dryness tannins well balanced and smooth. Think it still needs a few years to develop, but this will be superb
