Day 2 review with underbrush, cola, dried leaves, soy and Asian spices. Mellowed out on day 2 as day 1 quite a bit of wood. Medium finish and drinkable. As noted earlier probably better five years ago but still solid.

Not what it probably use to be which tells me don't age Cali Pinot Noir. Pine, cola, spice and underbrush. A bit too much oak that detracted from the overall quality. Drink now!

California Pinot (Gary's Place, Hudson, WI): Dark red, slightly rusty color. This bottle had a one hour decant, followed one glass over 3 hours. 14.5%alc. Interesting nose with dry earth, forest floor, cola, cherry cola, slightly floral, a touch stewy over time. The palate has oak, spice, some heat, typical sour cherry, medium finish. I suspect this wine is past peak and on the down swing.

Nice, am I getting more into cali pinot? I don't know, but this one is elegant and very silky smooth. Nice fruit and just a hint of the candy. I think this one will last for a while.

This was popped, poured and killled in about 1.5 hours. Showed very nice right from the get-go. Rich and velvety palate feel that is chalk full of dark red raspberries, plumb and the typical Pisoni spices I associate with the vineyard. I was pleasantly surprised by the balance and lack of heat, given the vintage. No shame in popping these if you've got em, though time in bottle won't hurt.
