REd colour, touch of fading at the rim, wild strawberries and spice on the nose Light body, not showing a lot of fruit but with firm tannins. Lovely nose but not showing that well.

Splash decant. Deep rosy ruby color. Raspberry, lingonberry, poppyseed, pumpernickel, and earthy florals. Smooth and very dry palate, with lively, finer acidity. Firm, medium intensity tannins on the longish finish.
Great starter for a great business dinner at August in New Orleans. Enjoyed with crudo, gnocchi, and duck.

WHY: this item seems like the most pertinent available followup to a surprising, leftover, declassified 2017 Chorey-les-Beaune from Daniel Largeot. Steak is on the menu. NOSE: supple, intense, blackberries and plum pulp, pressed with mocha, sumac, and star anise cigars. MOUTH: tense, gathered edges. It steadily gains mineral transparency as it launches bundled flavor artillery. Supremely agile and athletically lean. Crumbled walnut shell; blue pottery; etched with bramble leaf and west Asian spices. 91 for now, though I intend to save a glass for tomorrow for a possible upgrate. 24 HOURS later: tastes about the same; regardless, If I had only one more bottle, I would wait until after 2026 to drink it. 90-92.

A generous and deep nose of plums and red berries, with a slightly warmer dark fruit undertow. Subtly framed by baking spice and earthy sous bois. On the palate, an energetic blend of bright fruit, grippy but ripe tannins, minerals and restrained spice. Elevated acidity. On the young side, but room for upside.
