Deep inky ruby in color. First nose of dark cherry and vanilla. Second nose opens up with more dark cherry, baking spices, blueberry, and vanilla. Flavor of blueberry and baking spices. Tannin structure has held up throughout the palate and finishes dry.

Decanted for two hours then consumed over two evenings. The wine was undeserving of review on night one, most likely due to the short decant. Night two was substantially better as the bottle took shape. Tannin remained noticeable though in soft strands while the fruit began to show off. Personally, I believe this wine could use a little longer nap.

4th Saturday Group: Uptown Brown Bag: Double blind. Inky crimson color. Aromas of black fruit, coffee and plum. Plummy dark fruit dominates the palate. Balanced. Herbal tones begin to appear as it breathes. Very nice. 92+ pts. (R&S)
