Wonderful on night 1, but tannins gone by night 2, when the fruit dominated and it was bested by a more recent Carlisle. But the first night was spectacular, rich and balanced. Comparable: Hanley Ramirez.

This wine is drinking terrific right now. The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blueberry, raisin and meaty. It tastes like blueberry, blackberry, dust, mineral and oak.

Much better than the 2006. Fully integrated, beautiful nose. Little sense of alcohol despite high alcohol content (well over 15%). A wonderful zinfandel, from Acker Auctions at about $25 a bottle. For heavier wines, I'd rather other California varietals, however, but this is really good. Comparable: Corey Hart.

Normally these Zins are excellent but this is not the best that Radio Coteau can do.

Far less compelling than the 2004.
