40th anniversary tasting (L'Esprit du Vin - Axelborg): My notes from this fantastic gigantic tasting are in general extremely short (because of the many wines) but with ratings. We spent a whole day tasting and tasting quality wines. This wine: Usually not that impressed by De Sousa, but this is amazing. Lots of tertiary notes, overripe apple, nutty, toffee. Pretty developed. This bottle is right now in the sweet spot drinking window, if you do not like it too tertiary, which i don't.

This is the most overtly mature on the nose of the wines. Golden, ripe but it still has that minerality; concentrated, powerful palate. Lots to savour here! Really dry finish as per the other wines. Complex. Very very good.

22 Top Flight Champagne's for E&R's 20th Anniversary (E&R Wine Shop, Portland OR): Pretty aromas that are lightly mineral inflected. Soft palate entry, with some burnt wood notes. Strong mineral funk comes across a bit bitter on the palate. Bitter again on the finish, showing some woodsy character. A little bit weak compared to the rest of the lineup, showing some light minerals.
