Clearly past its prime but it must have been something nice in the day! Ghosts of fruit, suggestions of dry autumn leaves.. similar to what others have mentioned, just faded and mute. Mr. Peepers made a bland chicken soup. Sorry Mr. Peepers but it was quite bland! And yes I know I made you drain off all of the chicken fat so I can keep my figure, but honestly, I don't know why I bother to eat at all. So can you imagine, a Friday night with bland chicken broth and faded Rousanne? I really need to keep some nicer bottles for the weekend.

NOSE: extremely hollow bouquet: notes of honeysuckle and mango make pleasing-but-weak appearances.
BODY: rich golden-yellow color; clear; medium bodied.
TASTE: not complex, but well-balanced; juicy pear flavors play nicely with the faint minerality; short finish; this was tasting better when purchased a year and a half ago. Luckily, this bottle did not exhibit the strong alcohol characteristics others have noted. Drink now.

Better the second day. Don't serve this too cold. Needs to be cellar temp or above. A little closed the first day, but started it out too cold. Opened up nicely on day two.

The nose is suggestive of dried leaves in the fall; pleasant, but not sharp enough to set off pork gyoza. On the palate, it was round and not as sharp as I recall. Hints of melon, mango, and non-citrus fruit predominate. It did have its moments balancing the umami/salt of the soy-garlic dip.
