I’m between 93-94 here. I haven’t had one of these with significant age, so I’m curious how they evolve. That being said, this was excellent.
Barrel selection of Stolpman’s best roussanne, blended with a kiss of Chardonnay (7%). Removed cork and let breathe for 30mins before consuming from bottle over the next two days.
This is incredibly concentrated but with a shockingly balanced acidity profile. Golden in the glass. The glass jumps at you with tropical yellow fruit, honeycomb, orange marmalade and roasted macadamia nuts. A bit oily initially but the finish has such vibrant and very acidity to snap this back sporting truffle honey and ginger. Excellent. Need to find more.

Brilliant yellow gold - looks delish; lemon scented vanilla cream - smells delish; rich thick viscous concentrated creamy palate with enough acid to keep the vanilla and lemon in keen focus on long unfettered palate presence - tastes delish. This along with Booker’s White are very successful Caltakes on Rhone varietals - Bravo.

Color/App: medium/deep yellow/gold core with medium + viscosity. Luscious and lovely bouquet of golden apples, ginger, lychee and jasmine and honeysuckle. Big-boned white but balanced and lithe -- not syrupy -- and less oily than I recall the '10 being. Palate of golden raisins, tropical fruit, ginger and spice. Plump midpalate and with a moderately long finish, this checks all my boxes for quality new world Roussanne. Got to admit, I'd love to see Stolpman mix this with Marsanne to see their take on a new world Hermitage/St. Joseph blanc. I think that might make an even bigger splash than this. 93.5
